Every morning, Pam wakes up early. She makes coffee and opens her laptop because she works from home. Her office is a small corner in the living room, but she loves it. It is quiet and comfortable in the morning.

That particular morning, Daniel came downstairs. He was still sleepy but hungry. Pam looked at him and laughed.

"Sit down," she told him. "I can make you some eggs."

"Are there any eggs left?" he asked.

"Yes, there are," she said. "And there is orange juice in the fridge. Help yourself."

Daniel sat at the kitchen table and checked his phone while he waited. Then he looked up.

"What time is your first call?" he asked.

"It is at nine," she said. "I need to be ready in twenty minutes."

"Okay," he said. "I will be quiet."

Pam put the eggs in front of him and he thanked her. After breakfast, they both went to their own spaces — she to her laptop, and he to his room. The house was calm. Pam drank her coffee slowly and started her day.

Ellie had a math test that day and she was nervous. She studies a lot, but sometimes the numbers confuse her. Her teacher is nice and always explains things clearly to the class.

Before the test, the teacher looked at her students.

"You can do this," she said. "I believe in all of you. Just take your time and read carefully."

Ellie opened her test paper and read the first question. It was not so difficult. She answered it quickly and moved to the next one. Her pencil moved fast across the page.

After school, Daniel was waiting for her at the bus stop. He smiled when he saw her.

"How did the test go?" he asked.

"It was okay," she said. "I think I did well. The first question was easy."

"I knew you could do it," he told her. "You always study so hard."

"I was really scared before it started," she said. "My hands were shaking!"

He laughed. "Do you want to stop somewhere on the way home? You deserve it."

"Yes!" she said. "I want a smoothie."

They took the bus home together and talked about their plans for the weekend.

Ray arrived at the office at 8 in the morning. He put his bag under his desk, turned on his computer, and made a cup of coffee. He needed it — it was going to be a long day. His boss sent him a lot of emails and he answered them one by one.

A coworker named Marco came to his desk. He had a problem with a report and looked worried.

"Ray, do you have a minute?" he asked. "I have a problem with the numbers in this report."

Ray listened to him carefully and looked at the screen.

"I can fix this for you," he said. "It will take about ten minutes."

"Really? That is great," Marco said. "Do you need the original file?"

"Yes," Ray told him. "Send it to my email and I will get started."

"Thank you so much," Marco said. "I really appreciate it."

Marco went back to his desk and sent the file. Ray fixed the report and sent it back before lunch.

At the end of the day, Ray called Pam.

"I am leaving the office now," he told her.

"Can you buy milk on your way home?" she asked. "We are out."

"Of course," he said. "Is there anything else you need?"

"Get some bread too, if the bakery is still open," she told him.

"I will check," he said. "See you soon."

He wrote it on his hand so he would not forget. Their house is thirty minutes away, and he was happy to go back to his family.

Angie loves the mall. She goes there almost every weekend. That Saturday, she called Ellie and invited her to come along. Ellie loves spending time with her aunt, so she said yes immediately. They met at the mall entrance at noon.

Angie wanted to buy a new smartwatch. She showed Ellie different options at the display.

"Which one do you like?" she asked her.

"The blue one," Ellie said. "It looks great on you. I really think it suits you."

"Do you really think so?" Angie asked. "It is a little expensive."

"It is worth it," Ellie told her. "You deserve something nice."

"Okay," Angie said. "I am going to buy it." She smiled and put it on right away.

Then Ellie stopped in front of a shop window.

"I have seen a jacket I really like," she said. "But I am not sure about the colour."

"Show it to me," Angie told her.

Ellie tried it on. Angie looked at her and nodded.

"It looks amazing on you," she said. "You should get it."

After shopping, they went to the food court. Angie ordered her usual Japanese food and Ellie got a burger. They sat together and talked about everything — work, school, family. Angie always listens to her niece and gives her good advice. Ellie loves her aunt for that.

On Friday evening, Daniel met his girlfriend Riley at the cinema. She was already there when he arrived. He saw her near the entrance and waved. She smiled at him and they walked inside together.

They stood at the ticket counter and looked at the options.

"I want to see the horror movie," Riley said. "It starts in fifteen minutes."

"I am not sure," Daniel told her. "I do not really like horror movies."

"Are you serious?" she asked. "Everyone says it is really good."

"Okay," he said. "I want to make you happy. But you owe me a comedy after this."

She laughed. "Deal," she said. "You are the best."

He bought the tickets and they went in. He got popcorn for both of them and they found their seats.

Twenty minutes into the movie, Daniel covered his eyes. Riley looked at him and laughed quietly.

"It is okay," she told him. "It is just a movie." She took his hand.

"I know," he said. "But this part is really scary."

He laughed at himself. After the movie, Riley turned to him.

"So, what did you think?" she asked.

"I need a comedy next time," he told her. "A funny one. No more scary movies."

"I agree," she said. "You were very brave." She smiled at him.

They both laughed on their way out.
