"Sit down," she told him. "I can make you some eggs."

"It was okay," she said. "I think I did well. The first question was easy."

Ray listened to him carefully and looked at the screen.

"I can fix this for you," he said. "It will take about ten minutes."

"Really? That is great," Marco said. "Do you need the original file?"

"Yes," Ray told him. "Send it to my email and I will get started."

"Thank you so much," Marco said. "I really appreciate it."

Marco went back to his desk and sent the file. Ray fixed the report and sent it back before lunch.

At the end of the day, Ray called Pam.

"I am leaving the office now," he told her.

"Can you buy milk on your way home?" she asked. "We are out."

"Of course," he said. "Is there anything else you need?"

"Get some bread too, if the bakery is still open," she told him.

"I will check," he said. "See you soon."

He wrote it on his hand so he would not forget. Their house is thirty minutes away, and he was happy to go back to his family.

"It is okay," she told him. "It is just a movie." She took his hand.

"I know," he said. "But this part is really scary."

He laughed at himself. After the movie, Riley turned to him.

"I need a comedy next time," he told her. "A funny one. No more scary movies."

"I agree," she said. "You were very brave." She smiled at him.

📖 Key Reported Speech Verbs

said (that) Used to report statements: She said that she was tired.
told + person Used with an object: He told her it was okay. (NOT: told that)
asked Used to report questions: He asked her how the test had gone.
